Everyone who already paid is signed up. I'll put you in the Int. group and you can bump up or down as needed, or you could start in adv if you want.

There seems to be about 3 different threads for this trackday, so I'll just put this idea here. Hows about a little post party at my house in Orchard Park after the trackday? I realize people will be tired, but also ready for a couple beers/cold drinks and maybe a cannonball into the pool. Already cleared it with the mrs.
All are welcome to attend :peace:

Some of you may need a hand getting your bike to the trackday. Well, with all the guys with trucks and trailers who are going we have a fair amount of excess towing capacity. Don't let the lack of a truck or trailer keep you from going to the trackday.

Go to this thread if you can take another bike or you need someone to take yours:

I've had the days off since we 1st talked about it. So I'm golden. Even in the event that I can't make it I'd still let someone borrow the truck and trailer.

I'll also be bringing a cannopy that is probably 8 foot wide and 10-15 long... plenty of room.

So how do I get pit passes???? We'll be bringing (yet to be made) the new Sportriders banner. My request for the day off is in, should be approved.

BTW, I am actually coming out of Vinyl graphics retirement for this. Planning on making a kick ass banner. I may even make up some single color stickers too. (Don't hold me to it;)). I have to get some supplies.

Just did this up on the computer. :D:D I have to order the black banner, but I seem to have all the supplies to make it. Red, yellow and silver will be the colors on the logo... Oh and the size is 3' x 6'...

I've been to Cayuga at least 6 times. Never had to pay to spectate. Some confusion might exist if there's a drag race going on at the strip next door, just make sure you tell them you're hanging out at the road course.
But who knows, rules might have changed. It would be pretty funny and sad if they even attempted to charge more than a dollar or two.

saw it for insurance at a motocross.... I chose NOT to go in but sit in the stands w/ my friends girl.

There is a calender entry for this event. If everyone signed up could click on it, and RSVP that would be great and it would help Roger organize.

I'm confused. The title says Toronto Motorsports Park, and I think in the body as well. All the links and the track map are TMP. Did I miss something?

We'll be running Cayuga, not Toronto. Toronto couldn't come thru, & Rodger was able to set us up with Cayuga.

Actually Cayuga IS Toronto Motorsports Park. Mosport is Mosport but we were going to ride the Rider development track (RDT), not the main course.

Cayuga is a great track, everyone will have fun.

UPDATE:

There will be no washrooms available for campers

Gates will open at 7:30 AM and the washrooms will then become available.

There will be no concession stand open during our trackday. (We have a kind offer by one rider to bring his grill and some hot dogs. I'll try to work out the details, but the track is not concerned about this unless it turns into a large catering operation.:D Who would like to volunteer to cook up some dogs or bring rolls or condiments? Everyone should plan on bringing their own fluids.)

Big Jeff
06-18-2006, 05:42 PM
I am working details with peanut head right now. Since Dee and I will be there
and we are not riding, I'll do the grilling.. :D:D

I can offer to pick up a large brick of dogs/burgers from BJ's if no one else has a membership.

ive never been to a trackday but me and a friend are interested in taking the jump. any spots left for this time around? info on track prepping bikes/gear? the list for beginner (which there were 2 spots left last I knew - check here: http://www.wnysportriders.org/forums/showthread.php?t=5260) is short.

Bike:
tape off all lights - good idea to pull the fuses on the lights too, so the tape doesn't bake on
remove mirrors
change the coolant to water and water wetter (made by Redline) or just water - make sure that you use bottled water since most tap water will have too much crap in it and will cause problems for your cooling system

Gear:
Full faced helmet
gaunlet(sp) style gloves - come over the wrist
a suit, leather perfered textile maybe allowed - I am not at all sure about the textile suit... Rodger and Darren (who are #12 for this TD will have to answer that)
riding boots - again which level of boots they are requiring is not known on this end.

those are the minimum requirements by most TD. Again get the word from the horses mouth and PM either VTRDarren (http://www.wnysportriders.org/forums/member.php?u=730) or rodgerdoyle (http://www.wnysportriders.org/forums/member.php?u=11)

it is ok by most trackdays unless removing it exposes the headlight bearing. Headlight Bearing Cannot be exposed.

KevinPlease note that Yoshimura makes a carbon fiber headlight bearing retainer that will allow you to pass tech even with an exposed headlight bearing. I think Vortex makes one, too. Check with Kneedraggers or locally you can call Radioactive Cycles.

I looked high and low for these 'bearings' but couldn't find them.

I called Cycle Stop. I talked to two techs. Their service was terrible.

Then I talked to Bill at Hollink and he actually hung up on me.

Unreal.

Are you sure there is such a thing?

Here is a picture of the front of the bike, can you please tell me if you can see these bearings?

I should probably go out to the garage and get my bike ready, eh?
just have to:
flush radiator
bleed brakes
change out stock bodywork to trackday glass
change oil in my truck
change my muffler bearings...
pack my shit up :D
