I know I said I'd get this taken care of months ago, but even I get busy and forget stuff...
Here's the deal, adult CPR and First Aid training by an American Heart Association facility for $55 per person. (I paid $80 2 years ago) Location is dependent on the number of people who wish to get the training.
Don't sit on your thumbs, guys. This is more important than what kind of exhaust can you'll be irritating the neighborhood with.
In order to get the training done in one day, it'll have to be a Saturday. sorry to those that work on Saturdays. This will be PRIVATE, so it'll be just WNYSR. Doesn't mean you can use trucker language or scratch your sack all afternoon, but at least there won't be a bunch of blue haired ladies in the room.
The dates are April 8th, 15th or 29th. I thought getting it done before the weather gets too tempting would be best. I can't make the 8th, but I'm leaving it up to the group to decide.
This is important, don't take it lightly. Besides, it'll be fun to hang out!

I know I'm off the 15th. We get trained at work, but it's a joke (& we don't get any cert. card).

Great deal, sign up everyone. One this is done I promise I will set up another advanced "what the hell do I do now" session concentrating on accident trauma type scenarios, so everyone can apply those skills.
SIGN UP KNOW!!!! And bring your buddies, it might be your life they save some day!

Great Idea. I'm already certified in CPR and firstaid, also have cert for running a AED (automated external defibulator). I get recertified everyyear through work. I also am on the Safety committe at work, we do drill scenarios every month for trauma. Let me know if you need any ideas PFFOG.

Wish I could get a Saturday off for this! I need to be recertified for work and have let it slide for far too long. If you ever can do a non-saturday deal, I'm in!!!

Anyone thats concernd if they would consider thier life value should take DD's offer on this couse as a bare min. to save your life or some one you want to save some day. Don't look at it you will never need it or the other guy/gal knows how to do it. Look at it you know how to do it and you will need to know how to do it some day when least expected. Waiting for a some one trained on how to this or how to do basic life saving things can be a matter of life or death.
I'm not enrolling cause I all ready took a EMT course that this website shows what one is in general.

I had the chance to save a guys life once and did useing what I learned. Odd when the guy was passing away their was close to dozen all standing around looking at him and thinking gee it looks like hes going to die...till I stepped up to the sight and saved him useing my EMT trainning. Yes he would have passed away if I was not thier. Sad with so many just looking at him waiting for some one trained to arive which was around ten mins after I started.

Well I can see this is going no where... I received a call from the director looking for the status on this, and of course I had to tell her "not much interest". That's really sad, with all the bitching and moaning about loss of friends and how everyone was glad someone like George was there to lend a hand. Consider this scenario: George isn't there the next time.
If anyone is interested in CPR or First Aid training, I'll give you the number and you can make the arrangements yourselves. I'm thoroughly disgusted with the lack of response to something this important.

But it looks like 12 guys have responded to the poll with interest, even picking a date.
I've been working Saturdays in the AM. What would the hours be?
