PLEASE NOTE THAT WE HAVE MOVED OUR WEEKEND RIDES MEETING LOCATION THIS YEAR! Every Saturday and Sunday, we will be meeting at the Sunoco gas station at the corner of Transit Rd and Seneca St in Elma. Get there all gas up and ready to ride at 10am because we'll leave at 10:15am sharp whether you're ready or not.

This is also the Saturday meeting spot? I think its a good idea for Sunday, but Saturdays we usually head up to the border, and it makes much more sense to meet on mighty.

The guys usually meet at Mighty at 7pm at night before sometimes going across to Lundy's Lane. We are talking Sunday mornings. Not Sunday nights. fyi

Oh, thats right. I was thinking we went to lundy's on saturday night.

We could go to Lundy's Lane on Saturday night also. Set it up (leave location, time, post details...) and see if others want to go also. The new leave location is nothing set in stone that we all have to leave from on rides in fact it still makes no sense to me to go thier in less the ride is going to be around the new location to prevent back tracking/wasteing time if we do plan to go another way like Lundy's. We may want to consider a new location for the Sunday night meeting location also since that location sucks/makes zero sense. I would go at least a couple times to Lundy's to check it out. From what I understand Sunday nights are not as big at Lundy Lane as in the past. Friday night and Saturday night are better since most that go have jobs that prevent them from staying too late Sunday night. I also under stand they don't ride as much in they did and stand around kicking tires, eating dounuts, drinking coffee instead. The roads they ride at night you need to know like the back of your hand or you will be left in thier dust...if you go thier to ride that is. I perfer to ride in day light myself.
Has any one talked to the managers at the new leave location (noteing names and dates it was done @ Sunoco gas station at the corner of Transit Rd and Seneca St in Elma) to be sure they welcome us with full understanding we have sport bikes and when we will be thier?

My .02 on start location - I don't care where it is, but I think we should (or did) vote on it and then leave it alone so people know where to go.
This is especially helpful for those who may not live in Buffalo proper and know it without referring to a map (especially helpful for people like me who took almost an hour to find hooters because it wasn't close to any interchange).
Of course, once something is established, one can always make the occassional exception (like the time I'm going to talk all of you to starting in NorthEast to ride with the local Erie types on some excellent roads around the Findley Lake area).
Just my .02, no flaming required.

I would like to ride some of your roads! If it takes long to get to them for a one day trip (from Buffalo and back) why not try to make it a weekend ride? Sounds likes a good time. Some of us have talked over the years to do more weekend long rides since some times we ride over a hour to get to good roads and go home....and come back to the same area the next day. If it is a weekend ride though I perfer a roof over my head instead of camping in tents when on my bike to have a place I know I can hide from any bad weather.

Joe, I'm up for a couple evening Lundy's rides. In some cases, they may be easier for me, depending on the charter schedule.
Dave B, I'm up for Findley Lake, even if nobody else wants to go. I haven't been there in years.

My post was referring to the day rides. The night hangout is not decided on yet. We should have another thread for the night hangout.

To make sure I got this right: Day rides start at 10am from the Transit and Seneca intersection. While the night ride time and locations are still pending a decision/poll/vote. Right?

The night hangout isn't really a ride anyway... Most people that show up only want to talk and sit around. I wish we can get people to at least cruise a bit, but that might not happen.

I am a new member to the WNY sport riders. I own a Honda 1993 VFR750. I have just started to ride last year. I hope to do some serious riding and learn a thing or two from the guys on here. I work for Bob Weaver Motorsports and Marine. I am happy to see that there are some serious riders out there willing to share their knowledge and love of riding. :)

Welcome! Were you there yesterday when I was at Bob Weavers, I was the chinese guy that showed up asking for Micron replacement parts and trailer. ;) Can you help us promote the group at Bob Weavers? Like spreading the word about the site and maybe hand out flyers/business cards to people buying sportbikes/sport touring bikes?

Welcome to our website VFR750FP. I was the one that left you the flier today. Don't let Bob Weaver convince you to trade your bike in for a Yamahoppy  VFR's are great bikes....thats why I own one!

Some rides last all day, but most are local rides, so come and go as you please. Just make sure the group knows you're cutting out, so we're not checking under guardrails for your carcass...
lol sounds good do u guys make any stops 4 lunch?

No we don't stop for anything, so you better strap on your 5 gallon spare gas tank before coming to the ride. ;)

We have to stop every ninety miles or so, cause I need fuel by then!

What was that "feed bag" you had strapped on last week? Was that, BURGER KING??
Hi Sport Riders,
Someone told me about this group and now I find out you meet at Seneca and Transit only a few miles from my house... great!
I'm a retired old fart who will probably never give up riding. I used to race on and off road back in the 70's until some injuries stopped me from doing any more serious racing. I'm retired due to a bad back, so my riding is limited... but F U N !!!
My current rides are:
2003 Z1000 (for sale... is there a proper place to post bikes for sale?)
2003 SV1000 non-S version which matches my silver...
2003 FJR1300, comfy and fast
2002 Honda Reflex, for the wife, may be going up for sale
1984 Wing/sidecar, second owner of this fun rig with only 9K miles
Where's Spring :?:

Did you ride the FJR1300 to UB last year?
LOL...
My youngest daughter graduated from UB last year... and she doesn't ride. If she did it wouldn't be on my FJR. I ride mostly south of the city. The last times I rode my FJR were in GA and FL. I just got home from down south a couple weeks ago. Man, where's the riding weather???

I'd like us to post a group recommended PM meeting spot. I wasn't sure exactly where to go. I heard the Timmy Ho's on Main, Mighty taco where??? I just wasn't sure. So, maybe Air could post an official meeting spot and time. I would have gone out tonight had I known where to go.. How bout it Dom?

The mighty taco on Sheridan and NF Boulevard has been the traditional spot established by long since moved away friend Josh in 1992. He has left and the meeting spot remains. On a typical Sunday afternoon, you find a few people there. Especially early in the season. As the season wears on it tapers to nothing. As Dom pointed out. You go with anticipation of meeting some like minded hooligans and what you find is an empty parking lot. Suckoooo!
I say we make it official at Timmies on Main by the 290. On any weekday or weekend night we could meet there. Say at 7pm standard time. $.02

My vote right now is to keep it at Mighty Taco and move to Bubble Tea Cafe when they open up their new location which will be friendly to cars and bikes alike. I want to keep it at Mighty Taco because the car guys meet there, and we all know how sometimes we don't have people showing up and would like to at least have someone to talk to. BTW, there were about 8-10 bikes at Mighty Taco at around 10pm.

If your worried about missing people at mighty, why don't you put up flyers there on the posts. Just put them in plastic sleeves and duct tape right to the post.
Where is Bubble Tea gonna be? Easy access to and from thruway or no? I have harped about this before and I am getting wayy tired of harping on it. Easy access is a must. I hate MT. You have to put yself in danger and negotiate urban traffic(the most dangerous) for 7 minutes just to get to the meeting spot! What sense?

i dont see why would move it form mighty. I've been going there for over 5 years not one problem yet that i can remember. if it's working great why change it. as for the traffic that curve mentioned are ya kidding me about saying its dangerous. i keep forgetting what we enjoy doing in oour spare time oh yeah ride bikes really fst and take hard turns. i vote for mighty.

He's referring to riding in the middle of heavy traffic made up of soccer moms, selfish salesman, angry rednecks, teenee boopers, old and can't drive people, F&F ricers, etc... But while I don't like to do much riding in heavy traffic either, I also realize that meeting at a busy location like this is the ONLY way to get more new members. This is our night meeting spot not the day ride where we're getting away from people, we need to be right there in the middle of the crowd for our night meets.

1 or 2 riders showing up at Mighty... Great turn-out. Tell me again how well the location works?
I really don't want to go through the whole "meeting place" deal again. If you want to meet at Mighty, fine, I'll play along. Just don't say you have to stay at Mighty because it works, and then turn around, say you want to move it.
I'm simple minded, stop confusing me!

So where the hell do we meet on Sunday nights? I'm all confused. I was at mighty at 7 with Ryan (not G1K) and no one showed up. We were there for about 10 minutes.
Went to mighty Toco at 7:45 pm 2 bikes. Hope to see more next weekend.
You got the 04 Karl? You should bring it by the house, I'd love to see it up close :)

How convenient...... FOR ME :D
As for the Bubble Tea location, the new spot is supposed to be in the same lot area as Guitar Center. So that would be.... right behind Mighty Taco :) , across from the BLVD Mall "area" (more like closer to Chilli's).
As for highway access, easiest would be to get off of the NF exit on the 290, make a left, and drive down 6 or 7 lights towards Sheridan
Of course, I like the Tim Hortons on Main idea because I'm lazy, but it is easier access. You get off the highway and it's right there. But I would be worried about having to make a left hand turn right next to the off highway merge on Main Street. A lot of assholes drive there. So you are SOL CC.

Jonesie >>>> Exactly my point. You were there. Nobody showed up. ie.... you wasted your time going there... you wasted your time leaving from there and driving somewhere(probably the thruway) so you could then go somewhere you "might want" to ride etc....
I often go by meeting spots I know of and see if anyone is there to ride with. Or maybe I am just curious? By having the meeting place away from the thruway, the riders like me(that would be most riders for those of you wondering!) who would be inclined to take a quick look for fellow riders are put in a position where there is no "quick look" possible. In other words. They have to waste at least 15 minutes riding time to even check and see if anyone is at the meeting spot. And subject themselves to heavy traffic as well.
Brilliant. [yes read sarcasm  ]
But alas, you are all right. in your theories that NFB is a great place to ride. I totalled one bike there when a shopper lady decided to turn left right in front of me and I took out her front corner. Sending me flying but thankfully not hurting me. I was shocked at first and pissed second. My bikes front end was crushed. The best part was her remark which was " Why did you have to be here?" I was like EXCUSE ME? Why did I have to be here? I just happened to be minding my own business riding at the legal speed limit and driving carefully when you turned right in front of me with no signal or any prior indication whatsoever and ran directly into me with your big stupid car. She was a real prize. All she had on her mind(for what that was worth) was getting to the mall asap to do her shopping. I could not have been more of an inconvenience for here. She was actually bitching about being late while we waited for the police to come. God forbid she be inconvenienced. In her mind it was my fault for being there to begin with. Lovely!
This is what your riding in when you go over on the Boulevard around the Boulevard mall.
Mighty Taco was a stupid place to begin with and like everything else stupid in WNY, has carried on to this day by order of precedence > I suppose <.
If thats where you want to meet. Then meet there. You can think for yourselves and I'm tired of trying to convince people here of the obvious.
I have said all I'm going to say on this. I will not be going to MT any more. You will not see me there!

Still waiting to take delivery. I put down $4500.00 down already Freewheeling says any day now. As for Bubble Tea it sounds like a better spot when it opens. I only hope it won't be on the Amherst side.
