GENERAL RULES
Rules will be enforced! Some people may not be happy with the results. The rest of us will.
While the administrators and moderators of this forum will attempt to remove or edit any generally objectionable material as quickly as possible, it is impossible to review every message. Therefore you acknowledge that all posts made to these forums express the views and opinions of the author and hence the administrators, moderators or Webmaster will not be held liable for their content.
You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually oriented or any other material that may violate any applicable laws and/or rules. Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned and your service provider being informed. The IP address of all posts is recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions. You agree that the webmaster, administrator and moderators of this forum have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should they see fit. As a user you agree to any information you have entered above being stored in a database. While this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent, the Webmaster, administrators and moderators cannot be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised.

FORUM RULES
These are not suggestions! These are rules!
Freedom of speech and open expression of views are the core of what makes places like this great, and that's exactly what WNYSportriders is here for - with a few exceptions. Due to the nature of this site and its purpose for existence there are some subjects that just don't belong here. The following list outlines the topics that may get you banned immediately. This list is subject to change and will be amended as necessary and all items contained within it, aside from the meet curtain rule, are subject to reasonable interpretation - just remember that entering any of these domains without giving some thought to the context in which it is being presented could make for an unpleasant experience.
- USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION
Before starting a new thread or topic first search our topics to see if your question has already been answered. This site is equipped with a search function that allows you to browse past discussions. Not only might you find an answer to your question, you will also find a great archive of accumulated knowledge that you may wish to read at any time.
You're not going to be banned for the occasional duplicate post or a subject that has been touched on before, but you may be if within 10 seconds the search engine comes up with 2 or 3 of the same exact discussions or subjects. Searching the old posts and seeing them pop to the top shows you're paying attention and actually care about what you and others are discussing.
- POST IN THE APPLICABLE TOPIC FORUM
There are about 20 different topic areas. Post in the one that most applies to your subject. Review the various forum topics to choose the proper area. Most importantly, be clear and objective. State the specifics of your situation, as each situation demands a different answer. For example, list your modifications, your intended purpose for the bike, and specifically what characteristics you would like to change. The more information you can give us, the better answer you will receive.
- BE PATIENT
We try to make sure all questions receive at least some sort of response at the end of each day. The simplest questions are often answered last. Many people here have been on Internet discussion boards for quite some time and are reluctant to draft answers to questions that they may have posted several times before.
- DISCUSSIONS ARE SOMETIMES BETTER THAN ANSWERS
If you don’t feel as though you are 100% sure of your answer, let your uncertainty be known or don’t answer at all. You will not be flamed for posting your thoughts, theories, opinions, or even wild guesses as long as you don’t represent them as fact. You’ll have done no wrong by making an incorrect assumption as long as you remain open to its discussion. Keep in mind there is probably someone else out there that can provide a correct answer.
-RIDE/MEET FORUMS
There is no such thing as an official WNYSR.org ride. Rides happen all over at all different times.
- NO "KILL STORIES"
You will notice the absence of a "Kill Stories" section.
Please refrain from posting your illegal or poorly rationalized exploits unless it is intended to teach a lesson. If you do, we will quickly make you an example of what not to do. We do not condone any behavior that places yourself, or others at risk. We encourage everyone to keep his or her racing at an appropriate and safe venue.
- EBAY POSTINGS
Postings directing us to an eBay auction that you find amusing, unusual, or just plain zany will be deleted and you will receive a warning. The exception to this would be someone selling an item that directly relates to the interests of the site, such as a race bike, motor, tires, wheels, or other motorcycle item. Any posts meeting that exception should go into the sale/trade forum.
- NO NUDITY
Absolutely no photographs or videos displaying genitalia, male or female. While I'm sure every member here appreciates the inherent artistry and beauty contained in the nude body, there's a good chance they have a significant other that is not so enlightened. As a result of this disappointing lack of cultural sophistication the policy here is strictly "No Private Parts." Sorry.
- VIDEO LINKS
Video links that are posted that show rides should be aware of the following. No shots of speedometers/tachometers, road signs, or violations of general automotive laws. (Crossing double yellows, blowing through stop signs, etc.) Each video is subject to review from administrators or moderators. IF they feel that it violates the above or for any other reason, they will pull the link to the video and issue a warning. Further violation of this will result in banning from the site.
- NO THREAD HI-JACKING
Keep on topic in the forums or your posts will be deleted without warning. This will be at the moderators' discretion.
- AVATARS and SIGNATURES
Your signature size can be no larger than 100 x 450 pixels.
Any avatars and signatures that are objectionable, abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually oriented or that may violate any applicable laws will be deleted and you WILL be warned. This includes displaying genitalia, male or female or anything that RESEMBLES it.
- HARRASSMENT/BAITING
This will not be tolerated. Period. End of story. This includes harassing moderators for doing their jobs.
COMMERCIAL FORUM
There will be NO posting of commercial related material blatantly advertising a particular entity UNLESS it is PRE-APPROVED by WNYSR.ORG. If you want to advertise your business here, by all means PM the site owner and we can work up an advertising package that suits your needs.
If you are interested in giving a special deal to WNYSR.org members, then let the site owner know and we can work out a way to tell the WNYSR masses what kind of deal you will give them.
========================================
Unfortunately the sport of motorcycling can be dangerous. We urge you to take either the Motorcycle Safety Foundation Beginner Rider Course and/or Experienced Rider Course. Please, always wear full protective gear. Only you can be responsible for your personal safety; therefore, always ride defensively and ride within your abilities. Remember that crashes can happen at any time, often through no fault of your own. It’s best to be prepared and not need your gear, than to need it and not have it.
WNYSR.org is not responsible anything that may occur on any given ride. All this volunteer website does is facilitate folks meeting up to ride and shoot the breeze.
This list is subject to change without notice. It is your responsibility to check and be sure that what you post isn't on this list. Generally, common sense will save you. If you have to think twice about posting something, you probably shouldn't post it.
Follow these rules and have a good time on the board.
