Coming out of the garage, it doesn't sound ANYTHING like a motorcycle  Do they all sound that deep at low RPM, or is it just a Yamaha M1 thing?
I can't wait until the season starts :)

I didn't get to watch the vid yet, but that is(most likely) the normal sound of the v5, coupled with no mufflers.

Ryan,
Too bad the M1 is an inline 4.
I thought Yammahaha developed a v style engine also? Maybe I was thinking Suzuki? I dunno, you're right, it is a I4. Did they ever build a v?

That bike sounded bad ass! It doesn't really sound like a normal I4 though, how come?

emm... Maybe Yamaha is making a switch to V5!
That would be sweet.. maybe we can get the "old" m1 engines at a sweet discount?
Did have a different tone to it as het left the garage, sounded like joe's bike.

Nope,
The M1 is an I-4. I don't think they ever developed a V. That's not to say that it's not in the works, I dunno. I wish I did know. But, Bikes do sound different with no exhaust. Plus there was talk about Yamaha playing around with the firing order of the cylinders. That might account for somthing. I didn't think the bike sounded that different.

I'd guess firing order. Sort of like when Honda switched up the firing order on the VF to VFR line. Very different sounding music and power characteristics.
