Guys,
Read along for a short recap of the results from this past race weekend at Loudon, NH. It was beautiful for Friday practice. It was about 70 degrees and sunny. Perfect for riding. The new bike is amazing. It would power wheelie out of corners and brake on a dime. I had a blast in practice although I'm really out of shape so I was sore.
Saturday and Sunday was constant rain all day & night and cold! I didn't care, I love the rain! Anways, I'll save the details for the race report.
Basics: I'm a Junior Expert this year so we race with the experts although we start in a second or sometimes thrid wave which is roughly 10-20 seconds after the first wave of experts leaves the starting line.
Saturday
Race 6: Heavyweight Superbike (8 laps)
2nd Place only 0.772 seconds behind 1st place out of 13 Jr's. I was 8th place over all when you count all Jr's & Experts or 26 racers total. I passed 6 experts and lapped 11 riders total. I had the 5th fastest lap time overall. Two riders did not finish.
Race 14: Middleweight GP (Michelin Dash for Cash) (8 laps)
1st Place out of 9 Jr's with a 14.218 second lead over 2nd place. I was 4th place over all out of 19 riders. I passed 3 experts and lapped 3 riders. I had the 4th fastest lap time overall. Six riders did not finish.
Sunday
Race 1: Heavyweight Supersport (8 laps)
1st Place out of 11 Jr's with a 17.528 second lead over 2nd place. I was 7th place overall out of 26 riders and I started from the 3rd wave. I passed 7 experts and lapped 7 riders. I had the 5th fastest time overall. Four riders did not finish.

I was on full rains for all of Saturday and all of Sunday. You'd be amazed at how fast you can ride in the pouring rain. I averaged 59 mph around the track for all 3 races. In the last race I was riding wheelies down some of the straights and that's in the rain. It was so much fun. :)

how do u like the new whip???? what was ur best time on the f2/ vers the 636

The 636 is amazing. GMD did a great job setting up my bike so it rode great. I've never felt brakes as powerful on any bike I've ever ridden. The bike has the front wheel skimming along the pavement down the entire front straight.
I can't compare lap times in the dry yet. In the wet I was 6 seconds a lap faster on the 636. We didn't have transponders on Friday practice (dry) and I didn't have my lap timer so I don't know what times I was running. We'll have to wait and see.

AWESOME jonesie!!! how much cash did you win in the dash? did you get alot of questions about the team name? i get asked about it whenever i wear the shirt.

In the dash for cash I was awarded $100 for 1st place (Junior) and I also claimed an additional $125 for being 4th overall which would have normally gone to an expert.

Congrats!
What is this junior expert thing? Do you have to race one year as a junior expert before you can be an"expert" or something? It sounds like you are already above a "junior expert".

Loudon Road Racing Series (LRRS) is part of Championship Cup Seires (CCS). It's basically a franchise of CCS. They have the same rules but, they add their own twist to things. CCS has 2 classifications: Amateur & Expert. LRRS has three classes Amateur, Junior Expert, & Expert.
LRRS has changed the names of their classes this year to follow the mold of CCS, but they still have their beginner tier of racing. They just renamed them: Novice, Amateur, & Expert.
From the rulebook:
Advancement: Novice to Amateur - Minimum of 10 races and a rider index of 0.500 or better. Amateur to Expert - An additional 13 races and an index of 0.500 or better. However they also take lap times into consideration.
Believe me I have a lot of work to do to get to the Expert level. I just happen to be VERY comfortable racing in the rain. In the dry... that's a whole 'nother story at that level. We practice with the experts and they'll blow by you like you were going in reverse. I've seen it first hand. In the dry my fastest time last year was around 1:20-1:21, these guys are running in the 1:12-1:13's or faster. That's roughly 8 miles an hour faster than me at every single point on the track.

Awesome finishes!!!
Bike looks good.
I used to be good in the rain too. I echo your comments about how good rain tires are, I've had my know down in downpours.
Great job Jonesie!!!!

We don't race with the Experts, we just share the track. Rodger, why don't you step it up and get your license or are you too P-whipped? Haha. :alright: :goofy:
PS: Ryan didn't race this weekend. There are other threads explaining why.

PS: Ryan didn't race this weekend. There are other threads explaining why.I am totally whipped, but that is not what keeps me from racing. Fear, time and $$ are what keep from it now.
And hey, are you coming to our track day or what??

I was reffering to Ray w/the scared part. You didn't look too scared out on the track.

Guys,
Keep it on topic. I rule this forum with an iron fist. :firing: :gunfirej: :phear: :megaman: :punch:
Rodger,
I don't think I'm going to be able to do track days this year. Money is tight with racing and time is at a premium for me. :banging:
Plus I proove, you fuck up good race bikes at track days, but not at race events..
